The Model - Training
UK Training
There are four TaxAssist Accountants training courses spread throughout the year. These last for five weeks and take place in Norwich, with a week’s home study in week 4.
BPP Professional Education, the UK’s leading providers of accountancy and taxation tuition, undertake our accountancy and taxation training. Many thousands of accountants, tax practitioners, lawyers, financial services professionals – to name but a few – have gained their qualifications studying with BPP. We believe that they have the best to offer with regard to course material and course tutors, and we are delighted to be able to offer this training to franchisees of TaxAssist Accountants.
Our marketing trainers provide a Business Acceleration Programme which encompasses five consecutive days of the five week initial training course, and lasts for six months after the end of the training course. We work with you during the course to decide on the right business development activity for your territory, then monitor your success. If for instance, we notice that you are attending a good number of appointments but not signing up at the rate we expect, we will help you to increase your conversion rate. This level of ‘hand-holding’ is the kind of support you may need in your first six months, and will help you to build your business at an aspirational rate.
Following the training course outlined above, there is further training in year one, also provided by BPP. This includes a three day course designed to teach you how to handle small limited company accounts (not subject to statutory audit) and covering additional topics such as PAYE, introduction to business valuation, marketing ideas, the Chancellor’s budget, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, management accounts, budgets and projections, cash flow statements etc. There is also additional training and mentoring at months 2, 3 and 6.
By the end of the training provided by BPP and TaxAssist Accountants you will know how to;
- Market yourself, find and retain your clients
- Competently complete year end and monthly/quarterly accounts and tax computations
- Complete Self-Assessment tax returns and various other tax forms
- Operate bookkeeping + VAT software and be able to advise your clients
- Run an efficient office/shopfront and business with the support of IT, marketing and eventually staff
- In short – how to run and grow a successful business
