The Model - Support

UK

Technical Support

TaxAssist Accountants is a successful and growing business that has a real understanding of the accountancy and bookkeeping services UK businesses need and the costs they expect to pay. BPP Professional Education is a world leader in the provision of training to professionals. Together, BPP and TaxAssist Accountants have set up this bespoke training and technical support resource to provide you with support as and when you require it.

On this page we provide you with a full overview of the vast amount of support, guidance and encouragement we provide to our network.

Accountancy & Tax Helpdesk

The technical support we offer our franchisees is extensive. We offer a technical help-line which is staffed by qualified accountants and experienced support staff covering bookkeeping, accounts, tax, VAT, payroll, National Insurance and tax investigation. In the early days of operation this back up will be invaluable, and the continuing help and advice will benefit your practice as you take on staff who are also entitled to use their help.

IT Support

We have built up relationships with local IT suppliers in order to supply you with all the correct IT equipment and support you will ever need. From the initial 'stage 1' hardware and software package we include as part of the franchise fee to multi-user network installations at reasonable prices.

CCH Tax and Accounts software package

CCH Tax and Accounts software We operate a fully integrated software suite in our network, which includes practice management, accounts, bookkeeping and tax compliance as well as planning software.

In addition, it has excellent management tools such as the facility to review tax returns for potential HM Revenue & Customs enquiries and various planning exercises, which are ideal for the proactive adviser.

Full training, support, installation and updates are provided on an ongoing basis.

Virtual Campus

Our BPP Virtual Campus WebsiteRegulations mean that qualified accountants and students are expected to maintain continuing professional development (CPD) throughout their working life.

It is also strongly encouraged for non-qualified accountants, and may well become mandatory in the future. Again, in close partnership with BPP we can offer a complete solution to this, using innovative online learning aids and face-to-face courses.

The Virtual Campus hosts interactive, audio and visual courses that are relevant to your needs as a small business adviser. In addition, completing relevant learning activities on this site will contribute towards the CPD requirements of your professional body (ACCA, ICAEW, etc). BPP will add courses to this catalogue to reflect current and emerging training needs and to reflect your feedback and maintain a record of the learning that you have undertaken for a period of 3 years.

Additional Services

To ensure our network are able to give a full business to business service we have found strategic partners with other businesses to provide TaxAssist Accountants with branded services. For example - Independent Financial Services, General Insurance, Company Formations & Secretarial Services, Telephone Answering Services, Stationery Suppliers, Invoice Financing, Asset Financing, Debt Collection etc. More branded products are available.

Technical Update Days

Twice a year we provide Regional Training Days run by BPP to cover Budget, tax and accountancy updates. These are held at four locations around the country at no extra cost.

Limited Company Training is also held frequently throughout the year and provides new members with the knowledge to deal with small limited companies with a turnover of under £1 million. New members have to attend within 12 months of starting and the existing network has the opportunity to attend again as a refresher.

Meetings and visits

It is vital that our network receives technical updates and that we maintain high standards of accounting practice for our clients. Regional Meetings and Training Days, Meetings with the Franchisee Development Managers and visits from the Technical Support Managers all ensure this happens effectively .

Use of a Technical Support Website

Our Technical Support SiteA wealth of useful information is contained in our easy to use website. The site is being constantly enhanced and is becoming one of the most powerful tools helping to ensure our business owners to stay one step ahead of the competition.

The Support Site forms the Blueprint for managing and developing a successful TaxAssist Accountants practice. It offers advice and guidance, allows you to order stationery, and adverts, and book into training sessions to name but a few features.

This part of our website has won 3 business awards for the way we support our business owners 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Training Manuals & Workbooks

The detailed Manuals form the basis of your training reference material and are explained fully during the training programme. All the manuals are available online, on our support website, once the course has been completed.

TaxAssist Accountants Guaranteed Service Standards

Not many independent accountancy practices in the UK will give guaranteed service standards to their smaller clients. Again, this is where our business owners are different and can stay one step ahead of the often complacent competition. We know we give high standards of service to our clients, so we are quite prepared to stand by these standards and set them out in a formal document to set us apart from the rest. Much more information is available on this aspect of the business, which you can see when you visit us for a discovery day.

Benefits Of National Agreed Tariffs For Support Services

The Support Centre continually negotiates deals with other suppliers to pass onto our business owners, for example professional indemnity insurance, general stationery requirements, banking schemes, outsourcing companies and so on. We refer to these suppliers as our 'Additional Services'.
